What A Month!

Time flies when you're having fun! May has been the best month! We have been on vacation with friends, been on vacation with just our little family of four, I had an alone trip to Arizona (hello, that in itself was such a treat) and we have had my mom and dad here for the last week and a half. So since I haven't shared pictures or told you about any of it, I thought I'd start with our first trip with friends and I'll be back soon to fill you in on the rest of the months happenings!
We took a nice weekend trip to Victoria, British Columbia with some great friends of ours! 6 adults and 10 children! You may think that sounds crazy, but the kids are such great friends, that everyone really had a great time. We arrived on Friday afternoon and we spent the day walking through downtown Victoria. The city is so nice and looks out over the harbour, and you constantly see sea planes landing and taking off! We didn't have a speck of rain to spoil our trip, so we felt really lucky! Saturday we went to Butchart Gardens. It was so beautiful! I can't believe that these were once originally Mrs. Butcharts personal gardens! We were able to walk around for hours and take in the beautiful scenery. We had many photo opportunities, my favorite is us walking through the water stones in the Japanese Garden, the sound of running water made this little spot my favorite in all the garden, it was so serene and peaceful, something I want for my own personal garden one day! I had heard so much about these gardens, I am so glad we went! That night was a real vacation when the adults enjoyed a nice dinner out with no children! Seafood and Steak on the waterfront was perfect! It is so nice to have such wonderful friends when you're far away from family! Our trip to Victoria was something we will always cherish! Thanks friends!

Sunday morning Joe, the girls and I departed our friends to take another ferry over to the San Juan island for a well deserved family vacation!! I'll be adding another post to fill you in on that fabulous getaway!
